Well hi there Reader!! 🖤
This week I hit two pretty amazing milestones in my business.
One of them? I reached 1.5 million views on YouTube. (Just to be clear - that’s views, not subscribers. 😜 let’s not get carried away.)
Now I know that milestones like these are technically “vanity metrics.” Big numbers don’t always equal more sales or more business. But still - they mean something to me. They help me feel encouraged. They remind me to keep going.
And more importantly? They represent one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in the last few years.
It’s something you hear all the time, so much so that it’s easy to tune it out. But honestly, it’s made the biggest difference in my business.
I’m talking about consistency.
When I started Created by Wayne, I knew I couldn’t stretch myself across multiple platforms at once. I also knew how quickly I get overwhelmed. So I made a conscious decision: pick one platform, and commit to creating content consistently - at a pace that actually felt doable.
Now don’t get me wrong. My weekly upload schedule on YouTube has slipped plenty of times - because, well, I’m human. And life happens. Plus, it’s mostly just me running this show. So yeah, things are going to slip now and then.
But overall? That commitment to consistency - rather than chasing every shiny new platform or strategy - has been my biggest win.
It’s why I now have a solid library of videos that continue to add value and help people discover me - even when I miss a week (or three). It’s why my email list keeps growing and why my views keep ticking up - even when I need a bit of a break.
And that is invaluable to me.
So, my tip for you this week?
Give yourself permission to not be everywhere. Instead, focus on showing up in one place, consistently. Choose the platform you actually enjoy using, and stick with it until you feel ready to do more.
Because being consistent in one place is so much more powerful than being sporadic across several.
Consistency builds trust. And the results of consistency? They give you space to breathe when you need it most.
Tips to swipe
I have a complicated relationship with social media. 🫤
I don’t love how easily I can lose hours scrolling on social media—and I definitely don’t love how it feeds my (unhelpful) habit of comparison. I don’t enjoy the grip it seems to have on all of us sometimes.
But the creation side of social media? I actually really love that bit.
I enjoy the designing, and the editing, and even the writing of captions! Most of all I enjoy figuring out how I can tell a story to connect with other humans all over the world through just a few words and pictures, or a short video.
One of the most powerful formats on social media to tell a story is still carousels. These little magic roundabouts (see what I did there? 😜) have been one of the MOST consistently well performing and highly engaging types of social content for DECADES now.
But like with all creative mediums, there are always ways to make sure that you are getting the MOST out of your carousels, and ensuring that they reach the people who need to see them…who YOU want to connect with.
This week over on YouTube I am sharing the 5 top techniques for making more impact with your carousels - plus tips on how to use Canva to implement those.
If you’d like to make a little more magic with your social carousels - this video is for you. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Speaking of growing on social media…
I find it really hard to find people whose advice actually feels like it works for me. Especially when it comes to social media.
I can’t stand the hustle...the bro-marketing vibe. And honestly? I just don’t connect with the sea of twenty-something “social media experts” shouting about how to “go from 100 to 100,000 followers in 30 days.”
So when I do come across someone whose approach feels a little more aligned with me, and who actually has the receipts to back it up - I take note!
Gannon Meyer is one of those people.
What I appreciate most about Gannon is that his strategy for building a brand (and following) is grounded in being human, being yourself, and being honest - first and foremost.
His carousels (and videos) are also a brilliant example of how storytelling can amplify your message. They showcase a lot of the tips I’m sharing in this week’s YouTube video, too - so if you're into learning by example, he's a great one to check out.
If you are interested in growing on social in a way that feels more authentic and manageable, his account is a fab place to start - inspiring, practical, and best of all, he never talks down to you.
Check out his Instagram for yourself - and tell him I sent ya. 😉
