Well hey there Reader! We made it to Friday. π And BLACK Friday nonetheless. (Sounds a bit ominous when I put it like that, doesn't it?? π€£)
I've never been a big fan of the whole 'Black Friday' thing - that's why I've resisted doing any BF/CM deals myself until this year. I guess I didn't want to add to the 'noise'. But it's actually been quite fun to do just a few days of something that's a great offer, and I've tried to have fun with it rather than taking it too seriously.
That's what I'm trying to do with my marketing in general - shift my approach from feeling like it's all serious and stressful, to just having fun - connecting with people and being really upfront about what I offer and how I can help (and keep paying my rent! π)
I think the years of us all being subjected to 'hard-sell' tactics at every corner has made a lot of us feel a little jaded about marketing - and it has certainly made it feel really 'icky' to sell ourselves. But the bottom line is, we shouldn't feel ashamed about trying to make a living - especially not when we are providing goods or services that we know add value for other people.
So next time you feel like you shouldn't send that sales email - try and just have a little fun with it. Unless you are actually trying to scam people, why shouldn't you ask for support and offer your time and expertise in exchange? We all deserve to succeed.π€
