Hey Reader!
Right, coffee & confession time. When I was building CanvaOS....I very nearly didn't.๐ซค
Not cos of the tech or the time, funnily enough. It was the stuff in my head: Could I actually add any value here, when there's already so much course content out there? And even if I could, was I actually ready to put my face and my thinking out there in that way? A course isn't something people just skip like a YouTube video they don't wanna watch. They've paid for it, and they expect it to be good. And rightly so - they DESERVE to get their money's worth! Visibility like that can a really nerve-wracking thing for some people (myself included! ๐).
And then, underneath all that, pricing anxiety - charge too little and you're undervaluing months of work; charge too much and, well, nobody buys it and you've just confirmed every doubt you started with.
Here's the thing though, a lot of that got quieter once I stopped listening to the "six figure launch" hype crowd ๐ and started looking for people who'd actually talk about the messy, uncertain bits honestly. People who taught me that I DID have something valuable to share with people, and showed me how to do that without getting overwhelmed. Jason and Caroline Zook were a big part of that for me. No hype, no hard sell, just two people who've built and sold their own stuff successfully for many years, being genuinely honest about what works and what doesn't and giving real, practical advice.
And, if I'm honest, having CanvaOS out in the world has changed more than I expected. It's given me the freedom to actually choose which branding clients I say yes to, instead of saying yes to everything cos I feel I need to. And even more importantly it's allowed me time to make all the free content I put out, and build this community of lovely humans that we've got going here.๐ค
Building a course isn't necessarily the most natural thing to all of us, but with the right help and platform, it is sooo do-able. And for me it has definitely been worth it, and I am now excited to be working on even more to come! ๐
Anyway - I just wanted to share that before we get into this week's special edition, cos it felt more honest than pretending I had it all figured out from day one. I want you to know what it's really like - and launching my course has been a game-changer for me.
On Teachery.
I mentioned Jason and Caroline Zook, and it's not a coincidence, cos they're also the people behind Teachery, which is the platform CanvaOS and my other courses actually live on.
And Teachery is really a lot more than that: Not only can you create and sell online courses, but you can also sell or promote digital downloads, membership hubs, client portals, templates, and almost any other digital products you can think of.
One of the things that makes Teachery so unique is their pricing. They don't 'cap' you at 3 courses just to get you in... and then charge you extra for every little thing after that. Because the folks behind Teachery know what it's like to be solopreneurs and small business owners. You can pay one lifetime fee, and that's it. No upgrade fee, no "oh but that's a different tier now" BS.๐คจ
I'm sharing this now cos their current lifetime deal is going up soon - for the first time in YEARS. As I mentioned, Teachery has a brilliant "pay once, use it forever" option - as well as a monthly pricing option - and the current lifetime price ends on August 15th, after which it goes up. If you've had course platforms on your maybe-later list, this is a deadline genuinely worth thinking about.
What I am really keen for you to know though, beyond the price, is that Teachery keeps getting better. It has evolved so much since I've been using it, and they're rolling out Teachery 4.0 this October, which is bringing communities, memberships, more design customisation and an easier, faster mobile-friendly editor, and all of that comes included for existing lifetime members.
Plus they have recently launched a super handy little AI tool that actually builds a starting outline for you from a simple prompt. And it can create the ACTUAL course structure - with placeholder images & text - inside your Teachery account in a couple of clicks, ready to customize.
And honestly, the people behind Teachery are all just lovely. Real, thoughtful humans who reply properly when you reach out - not just a ticket number and a canned response. That matters more than people think when you're building something on your own. Plus the step-by-step help resources are AMAZING.
So, if you've been thinking about creating a course (or moving off a platform that's slowly bleeding you dry every month! ๐ฌ), this is a good time to have a look at what Teachery can offer you.
If you can't already tell ๐ I am honestly a big fan - and an affiliate - so I am happy to answer any questions you may have about Teachery. Please just hit reply and I will get back to you ASAP. Or hit the big button below to find out more.
